FACILITIES MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY CERTIFICATE PROGRAM(FMTC)
This intensive Certificate program integrates hands-on laboratories for HVAC/R, plumbing, electricity, major appliances, general physical plant maintenance and repairs with essential lectures on building systems, tenant relations, personnel management, life safety, security, and fire protection systems. In addition, the graduate is prepared to sit for the examinations for related industry certifications in Department of Environmental Protection, Environmental Protection Agency, OSHA, and FDNY Certificates of Fitness. If the student wishes to continue on, all of the Certificate Program course credits are applicable to TCI’s Facilities Management Technology A.O.S. degree program. Certificate holders and graduates of the degree program may receive partial credit transfer to the Heating, Ventilation, Air conditioning and Refrigeration Technology degree program. The program length is 12 months or three semesters, courses are offered year round. Topics include:

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS FACILITIES MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY A.O.S. DEGREE (FMT)
The Facilities Maintenance Technology degree program; offers a well-rounded approach to learning building maintenance management and applied technologies for facilities management and maintenance personnel. The program integrates hands-on laboratories for HVAC/R, plumbing, electricity, major appliances and general physical plant maintenance and repair-with essential lectures on building systems, codes, estimating, personnel management, tenant relations property management and life safety, security, and fire protection systems. In addition, the graduate is prepared to obtain DEP, EPA, OSHA, and FDNY industry related certifications. The program length is 16 months or four semesters. Topics include:

FACILITIES MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY
The Facilities Management Technology (FMT) Department is committed to the professional and personal growth of our students. The curriculum meets the requirements of the facilities management and building maintenance job market by providing a diverse educational experience. We develop professionals knowledgeable in the maintenance, service, and repair of the physical plant for low rise, high rise and computerized “smart buildings”. Additionally, the curriculum includes courses in life safety, personnel and project management that will prepare them for the ever expanding service industry of Facilities Management. The graduate of TCI will have an Associates of Occupational Studies Degree (A.O.S) and a tool belt of skills ranging from Awls to Zip screws.

All faculty and technicians have multiple years of field experience combined with their academic credentials. Instructors come from the industry with certifications in building and air conditioning systems. All are committed to “hands on” instruction with students learning by “doing”.
