Not only has TCI spent the time and energy to complete the necessary steps for accreditation by the New York State Board of Regents and the Commissioner of Education but we have gone above and beyond to receive an additional accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
Due to the dual accreditation,TCI has secured articulation agreements with local colleges and universities, and the credits completed at TCI are recognized nationally.
The dual accreditations by the New York State Board of Regents and the Commissioner of Education and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education convey to other institutions of higher education and to the general public that TCI is carrying out well-defined goals and objectives, guided by an appropriate mission for an educational institution.
TCI also has several program specific accreditations:
- Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ETAC of ABET)
- Ophthalmic Dispensing (OPT) is accredited by the Commission on Opticianry Accreditation
- IFMA has recognized that TCI’s unique program provides trained professionals to replace the aging workforce in facilities nationwide and has made it the first two year program in New York City to be granted Provisional Accreditation. The International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) is a global industry organization that provides networking and training for facility professionals and sets standards for educational programs in fourteen competency areas ranging from technical skills to personnel management.
