TCI’s Clubs Help Keep Things Cool This Summer

08/18/2012

For students taking classes at TCI this Summer, TCI’s Clubs have offered some nice breaks to the routine with some fun and interesting events.

Because students tend to be busy in the summer, the clubs’ calendar offers light, fun events designed to help students relax and have fun indoors.

Hot Artwork and Cool Smoothies

On June 27th, a Novelty Event was held at TCI giving students the opportunity to custom design cool artwork including wax hands, socks, and spin art glasses. Students got to keep the artwork they created, so in the future they can look at the art and remember, “I made this at TCI!”

Meanwhile, students could relax with smoothies at the Tiki Bar provided by Maui Wowie. Students were encouraged to try all the different flavors to cool off on the hot Summer day.

Grab Some Cash!

On July 11th, TCI Clubs hosted “Ding Dong for Dollars”, a game show that offered winning students the opportunity to go into a money booth to get as many dollars as they can grab.

Soar Into Space at the Intrepid Museum!

A group of TCI students were in attendance to celebrate the grand opening of the Space Shuttle Pavilion at the USS Intrepid Museum on July 20th.

The event was sponsored by the Math Masters Club, Robotics Club and IT Cert+ Club, and Professor Roy Lau led the group.

The students had the opportunity to tour the museum, see the newly-arrived Space Shuttle Enterprise, meet real U.S. Astronauts, and participate in “Spacefest”, an interactive display sponsored by Samsung.
