Social Media and TCI
"If it's not Facebook, it's not real."
We live in a day and age where all the information you need can just be Bing'd (I mean, Google'd) at the drop of a dime. We thrive in a society where you can look up another person up by Facebook or by Twitter. You can learn whatever you need to either by reading Wikipedia, or by watching YouTube. Isn't it about time your education met the same standard? Why can't schooling exist in the same virtual world we all know so well?
Today, I'm here to tell you that it can, and the time is now. You may have already noticed a few "Social Media" widgets floating around the website: Share this Post (Facebook) buttons, Retweet this (Twitter) badges, Comment on this (facebook) boxes. Technical Career Institutes has the unique position in that we stay on the cutting edge of technology either by way of our dedicated faculty and staff, or by passing on the tech to the students. During the past few weeks, we've been doing just that-- passing the tech on to you, the students! We've launched a brand new communication system called TCI LIVE!, as well as provided you with more accurate grades and financial information. We can communicate with you better than ever before!
How does this foster communications with your fellow students? Easily, and I'll tell you how. First off, every student can freely check out the service known as Twitter at http://www.twitter.com, and be sure to follow @TCICollege; we're on it too! We post service outages, general knowledge, and treat it as an informal forum for you to communicate with us, and maybe have a little fun (Jukebox Day, anybody?) Second, with your new TCI LIVE! email account, you can register on Facebook (at http://www.facebook.com) and join the "Technical Career Institute, New York, NY" network. What better way to get to know your fellow classmates than on one of the largest social networks in the world? Show your school pride, tell the world "I attend Technical Career Institutes" by joining the TCI network today.
Finally, we're very excited to announce that TCI does indeed have a YouTube channel, and we'll be showing off some very exciting things all too soon. I'd like to give you more information, but, well that would be telling, wouldn't it?
