A New Graduate!

The first project to Graduate from the |/b/| directory will be the ADA Compliance micro-site. You can view the website at |/b/ada|. The purpose of this site is to outline Technical Career Institute’s compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and guidelines for Students, Faculty, and Staff to adhere to.

Important to note: The ADA micro-site is currently the most WCAI compliant section across all of TCI’s networks, as well as adherent to the style and layout of the original |/a/| directory. ADA will also automatically translate to 35 different languages based on what you have your browser’s default language set to.

The ADA project is a huge success because it not only shows the feasibility of running WordPress to power the school website, but it demonstrated impressive turnaround time once content was produced.

As time goes on, more micro-sites will be springing up on the |/b/| directory. It is my goal to offer a uniform platform that can deploy portals for information and collaboration hosted under the TCI moniker in a timely fashion with a uniform design and structure. Every project we complete brings us closer to that goal.

This is just the beginning.

If you are a TCI employee who can authorize content to be placed under their name or organization, please contact the Office of the Webmaster to find out what options you have available to get your brand online.

Athletics, At..ath…al..atahualpa?

Finally structured the installation enough against the WIMP server to get cracking on the first portal in the /b/ directory, Athletics. I’m using a base theme of Atahualpa, and as any experienced WP dev will tell you… that is NOT a fun theme to work with sometimes, especially when you’re doing jQuery work.

The estimated completion for this portal should be due around the end of December optimistically, if not, than the beginning of January. It would be nice to find a developer who knows sports systems well, too– I have a few ideas that I’m not going to be able to flesh out on a short timespan. Se la vi.

Introduction to the Directory

The purpose of this site is to house WPMU installs that will be powering richer web portals than what is offered on the main website. This is a work in progress, and the /b/root will be used as the epicenter for all activity in our WPMU environment.
