College Preparatory Studies

Sometimes people discover the value of a college degree late in their high school years, or even later in life. As a result, many who want to attend college find themselves lacking some of the basic skills needed for academic success.

For these individuals, TCI's College Preparatory Studies courses can provide the support they need.

How It Works

We’ll work with you and develop a specific plan that will best meet your needs.

  • Meet with an admissions representative and explore what TCI has to offer.
  • Take the College’s computerized placement assessment. A counselor will discuss your educational background and assessment results with you and determined if you need additional academic support in reading, writing, or mathematics to help guarantee your success.
  • A schedule that includes college preparatory courses may advised. These courses may be either non-credit bearing, or “developmental” sections of credit-bearing courses that provide more in-class time each week to cover the same material. If you begin in a non-credit bearing course, you will typically proceed to the developmental course in that subject.
